Well, seeing as this won't happen until 2008-ish, I would figure that the lq9 will be the token v8. It's a thoroughly badass engine which makes the ls2 look like crap. Also, I would expect the ls7 as the new ls9 will prevent any encroaching on the outdated "corvette rule". As far as a transmission, I don't know. They may use the t-56 which is a fine tranny, just has a "clunky" feel I hear. The new 6 speed paddle shifter will probably find it's way into the new SS. I hope they re-work it, as currently it hasn't raised performance or economy, just price. Also, I am not a big fan of the general's v6's. I would like to see the 2.0SIDI turbo, but some old-schoolers would probably bitch to no end about it. Unless of course the standard engine is a GNX v6, in that case, ROCK ON. Platform will be a big thing. If the bas price is above 23k, sales will nosedive. I should start around 19.5-20k I think the slight premium over the stang could be justified by good marketing.
