93 Escort GT (Mazda BPD8 engine). Has been sitting for 6 months. Wouldn't start 6 months ago, apparently, even with a new battery, and I don't think it has run in over a year.

Today, I tried to get it going, since I'm going to need it soon and want to get it in good shape. The car will crank but won't turn over.

There is spark.
Rotor/Cap are clean, no arcs.
Air filter is clean.

Yes, from what I understand the gas has been sitting in the car. I have no idea how long for.

Maybe the fuel pump needs to be primed? Gas turn to varnish?

Where do I start? How do you deal with a car that has been sitting neglected for so long?
