I'll hafta let you feel my intercooler after an autox (or rallyx) run. It burns. That means no "cooling" in the "inter", so I wanted the higher octane to help prevent detonation. That way I don't worry as much about pushing 16psi on the straights. Plus, I must confess. I love the smell of race gas exhaust. I really didn't want 110, or even the 105 (which is why I sought out the Spur with the 100 first).
I do agree that too much octane and it won't burn fast enough.
