if the Iva-d310 is anything like the 900 then you have an auxilary input. you buy a $10 dual rca to audio male stereo jack, like this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099392032460

charge the ipod, plug it in and set the alpine to aux. since the ipod audio output is designed for smal earbuds the voltage output will be low so I don't know how loud the internal amp on the alpine will be able to make the final signal, but since you can return the cord to bestbuy it'd be worth a try to avoid the hassle of swapping the unit.

if your real good you can get a panel mount female audio jack and mount it to your dash ( in a nice spot) and leave the rca plugged in all the time, then with just a double ended male stereo wire you can plug your ipod into your cars dash ( like some of the newer cars are coming with).

I have the d310 and was looking at this as a possibility but since I have watch movies while I drive....I mean when I am parked...... I don't have time to listen to music anymore.
