I've had my IC off on multiple occasions and don't recall ever seeing a "black piece" that acts like a "stand". Perhaps things are different on an 04?

Are you referring to the black hose that runs from the turbo into the IC, or one of the brackets or something? I have the stock IC hose from my car that you can have if you need it.
