Not quite sure what is your question?
I've already replace a set of rocker arms for a customer in the past month (he's a member here, not sure if he wants me to id him).
I follow the specs according to the helms book, which were out of specs to begin with. Alot had to do were the cams itself (the TR favorite, junks stg 2s) and the mileage on the 1st gen head he was using. You can actually see the lobe on the cam wearing match to the rocker. Funny wear on the surface but hard to distingush from the eye. From what I've been told, it vary on the cause. From valve slash, to the type of oil to the spring pressure.
About a year ago, the 1st batch of BC worn out both the cam and the rocker arms. All was install by me, so install wasn't the problem.
Also seen the well known spring combo setup, i.e. portflow inners mated with OEM ITR outer springs and wear out a set of new OEM CTR cams. Worn out the exhaust cam real bad. Now, what was the cause of it? I don't know, I told the kit to buy a new set and just run OEM ITR specs.
Another tip is when your taking a head off, take the oil orfice apart and clean them out. Do the same with the cam cams and the cam plate (you know, the small oil holes where it goes up around the whole section). Old oil can build up and can lead to block age within those lines. CAusing starvation on the cam and hence scouring cam surfacing.
Also, brake clean and titanium don't mix well.
Post ur question on h-t.com, and see if Donf, Tbone, Max_CFM, Rocket, portflow, omniman and all those guys, see what they'll tell you. Those guys will tell you tons of stuff. Us backyard mechanics sucks!
