in all reality. you should replace your rocker arms when you replace your cam so you lobes do not get damaged by any ridges or pitting on the rocker arm.
i wouldent say there is a designated time for when to check the rocker arms but if you check before and after you do a track event you should be fine, its preventanive maintence. but yes check for cracks pitting ridges.
