Hard fact of reality is that unless you had Actual Cash value on the car and the mods, you will get hard screwed with the insurance. Nevertheless, you still will only get 30-50% of the retail value of all the reciepts, total. This is the insurance business, and thats how they screw you. Now if you had all the parts appraised as well as the vehicle, you might get more of your return back along if you carried full coverage insurance. Provide receipts if possible, and hope for the best, you might get nothing being you had a car that totalled over 10,000 in mods, but the insurance company only wants to pay you 3,000.00. Thats if they are generous, but be ready to fight, see ifyou can buy the car back, and reuse the parts you put on, thats what I would do no matter what. Good Luck.
