nobody frigin stopped. the people standing there took a minute to even figure out they should probably run over to see if the guys who just flew 40 feet down the street is alright.

i have a feeling he lived, i slowed it down and paused it to see how he landed, and the main impact was on his back... but you obviously cant see what he hit later.
