On my RB, after changing the Pistons, bearings, boring etc I did exactly what John Did.
I let it run for 20 mins idoling @ 2-2500 RPM's. The rings almost seat immidiately. I drove around for about 35-40 miles. Went home changed the oil. Compression tested. Then got on WOT in 3rd and 4th gear on about 10 psi. NOT shifting hard. Then was ready to go
