Valvoline works really well for the price. I have done 20-30 min sessions with it on a medium speed track with no fluid fade.
Motul is right between Valvoline and Castrol SRF in terms of price. I think it has the same dry boiling point as SRF, but a lower wet boiling point. Also a great fluid.
In terms of race pads on the street..that kidna depends. I run Carbotech XP race pads on the street, and they are noisey and dust quite a bit, but doesn't bother me. They are MORE than adequate when cold for street stopping power, and ofcourse nothing short of amazing when heated up. I would avoid a pad like the Hawk Blues on the street, because they will eat up rotors they are so aggressive. But I would no no qualms of running race pads on the street, if you don't mind noise, dust, etc. Nothing unsafe about it.
