Not to mention the trauma to the children (assuming there were children on the bus).

Be careful out there people...

A 19-year-old man died Monday evening, hours after being hit by a school bus in Winter Haven.

Christopher Brooks was reportedly driving a non-street legal, Mini Pocket motorized vehicle down Second Street toward Palmetto Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign.

The bus driver said she never saw Brooks, but stopped as soon as she hit him.

Brooks was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where he died.

The bus was finishing up its route, with seven Elbert Elementary School students and an attendant aboard. They were not injured and were put on another bus to take them home.
