VR6 has the most potential eh?

on a stock bottom end, runs 10s, and it's daily driven Just wait till he finishes building the motor.

Yes EIP has a 600hp VR6, but not only is it a R32 (almost twice the size of a 1.8t), but it also has a fully built motor. You are looking a near $20K on top of buying an R32, IF EIP ever releases the kit. You could always go with HPA that only charges $12K for the singe turbo kit or $25k for the twin turbo kit .

As for real world numbers I haven't seen one 24v with EIP's stg 2 ever get the claimed 350-400whp. The closest I've seen is ~340whp , while there are many 1.8t's with over 350whp.

This topic is definately been beaten to death all over the internet, and is just an extension of the old "no replacement for displacement " argument. The answer depends on the driver. If you want a well rounded, nice stock powerband, that you can mod a little, or have 20K to waste on modding a VW go with a VR6. (Personally if I had that much money to waste, I would drop the VW and buy an S4) If you want easily modded engine with a catalog of parts available and easily capable of high hp on a budget go with the 1.8t.

In the end, it's what ever floats your boat
