240sx 2.4L x 2 = 4.8L
Mustang 302 = 4.99L (call it a 5.0)
240sx 155hp
Mustang ~230hp (?)
Right out of the box, the Mustang 5.0 will be faster in every way, shape, and form (considering both cars are in the same condition).
The Mustang can be made faster for less.
The 240sx has many more options looks/suspension/interior-wise and can be made just as fast, with more money.
Like stated above, for straight-line speed, the Mustang wins hands down. For anything else, the 240sx takes the cake.
That being said, I own a '93 240sx coupe and an S2000. Obviously, I'm not all about straight-line speed (except the Nova sittin in my mom's garage that I plan to build up someday
