The whole engine code might help but I'll bet you it's a SOHC 4G63. I can't remember the exact year range but I usually look under the hoods of every galant and hyundai looking for 4G64s whenever I'm at the junkyard, and I remember seeing a lot of 4g63 engine codes, but SOHC. I have no idea what the compatibility with the DOHC engine is.

Here's a useful page on RRE's site that you will never find browsing through their site. They have tons of these pages and I keep finding links to them on message boards, but never on their site, which I find very strange.
