LEOs not showing up to court is an urban legend now and days. The City/State went hard on them since so many of them were not showing up and they now receive a write up about it if they fail to appear. Expect the officer to be in court for a broken headlight, speeding, etc, it is not like you will be his only case for that day so he has the time. On the other hand, go to court and pay the fines, and good luck not getting a judge that will not ride you on the ticket and make it a more punishable offense.
