Yeah, who cares? It's already stressful enough for the whole drivetrain to be going backwards, so why increase that stress by topping it out? You've got an entire extra gear in the transmission spinning, you're going again the strong side of the knuckle on your driveshaft, and you're spinning your ring and pinion against the opposite, and weaker side of the gears.
