Once you hit your number, sure we (or I, or some) will give you credit. Right now we're still waiting. In the mean time, it's going to take a lot more than a few $5k motors to convert the masses from the ole trusty SR. I was once told that Enjuku has sold over 1000 VSPL's for SR apps. That's 1 type of intercooler from 1 vendor in 1 region. I seriously doubt the QR will ever get close to that kind of acceptance. You are doing great things with the QR, but you can't expect everyone to be impressed.

The bottom line is the QR is no one's favorite motor. Altima owners want the VQ. Most Sentra owners couldn't pick their motor out of a line up. And, SE-R/Spec-V owners would rather have a smaller factory boosted motor.
I agree, from the factory, it's really not set up for big power. A light pressure turbocharger, set up correctly, yields a high 12-low 13 second daily driver, with a huge hunk of useable power. But, from the factory, that's about where it ends. Pistons/rods will allow 400whp. After that, the stock sleeves have to go.. So, 2500.00 worth of parts, will get you a block that can withstand 550whp or so.

The reason I was so interested in the motor... is the head and strength of the block. It just needs a lot of money right now, because no one mass produces anything for it. You're right, demand isn't there like it is for the SR. Time will tell if the QR ever does catch on.. It will never rival the popularity of the SR, simply because you have turbo variants from the factory that can make a ton of power. Now, if Nissan actually goes through with the engine that they are talking about putting in the Sport Concept, then that may change. Low comp, turbocharged QR25DET, with beefy rods, low comp pistons, oil squirters, etc.. They have been toying around with the test mules.. so, who knows..

The block is die cast.. using a high pressure injection process. The die goes from empty, to full in something ridiculous, like 1 second or something. The block is spun in a centrifuge after.. This means a more dense, harder block.. which is less likely to crack.

We will probably switch to a less laggy turbocharger, in the search for faster spool and wider powerband.. Maybe a SC61.. or 35R.. We smoked the clutch on it this week, trying to make a big pull. It hit 25-26psi, and the clutch let go. We were experimenting with a 250mm setup.. I guess we'll have to go heavier on the plate. I think it'll make 600whp at 26-27psi on C16. Hopefully, in a few weeks, we can get it to where we want.

Anyway, I respect you guys out there.. sorry if I got a little heated.. It's just frustrating sometimes, when you're trying to do something new, and you catch flack about it... lol.
