Back on this debate again.....
Last time I looked it seems my lowly ol 4.6 sure was smacking around Scott's 5.0 for peak power and both power below/above the curve, and the tree's don't wilt over as I pass by on the road either. I didn't have to swap the heads or throw a carb. on mine to get those #'s either. I guess those old pushrods motors just aren't as effiencient as you oldtimers thought
I've seen a number of modulars over reved without a problem, seems every 5.0 that gets overreved bends a pushrod or two. Gee wish I could have that problem

Last but not least if the 5.0 is so superior why is it modular swaps into fox bodies are getting so popular. Oh yeah I know, smooth power and more of it throughout the powerband. You can actually put down 500rwhp with A/C and all accesories and still idle like stock. And let's not even talk about modular 5.0 to pushrod 5.0.
For strokd85 we will have to get something with a few more cubes under the hood to match your performance. I know there's a few 5.4's out there that are working there way up as far as #'s go. Give them another year or two, only took 4-5 decades to get pushrods were they are today and modulars have been around for less then 1. Seems us 'newbies' are making ground fast. Still waiting to see #'s on a stroker 5.4. Should be interesting.
Don't be mad at us, just move over and get out of our way
