I agree with Walter its called rev matching not power shifting. Its not all that great for the average street trans. Racing trans have straight cut gears for this reason. And logically it doesn't make your upshifting any faster because you have to let the engine speed drop to get the gears to mesh. Might as well clutch it and save your trans.
It is called speed shiting and I have been doing it for years on my weak ass T-5 in the Mustang and every other manual trans. I have ever driven.
And I CAN upshift faster when doing this w/o having to let the r.p.m's fall.
Call it luck I guess....
