Theres a couple things you need to consider before trying to get a rx7.

1. Insurance, you are 16 i dont care how good of a driver you may be. The insurance company doesnt care your going to be paying ALOT, these are considered high preformance sports cars. You are also getting a turbo which will be even more exspensive (atleast what my insurance company told me).

2. Just b/c you can buy a rotary doesnt mean you can afford one. They are exspensive to upkeep, ask around anyone that drives one can tell you. Turbo's tend to have more problems then N/A's.

3. Gas prices, there rotary they get about 15mpg.

4. Your young cops are going to be looking to bust you real quick for driving one of these cars. Granted its not fair but its what happens.

5. Do you want a 3rd gen(93+) or a 2nd gen(86-92)? Personally i prefer 2nd gens (i drive a 88 FC RX7) it will matter with insurance as well since the year of the car will determine stuff.

6. When (not if) the car breaks down you better know a rotary mechanic ( i can recommend one if you want he does the work on my car if i cant ) or know how to do it yourself. Getting one of those mechanical books at a autoparts store is the best 15 bucks you will ever put towards that car. Most mechanics wont touch a rotary for real work and if they do a good chance they will screw it up.

Just my imput if you got questions go out saturday night and talk to some of the rotary drivers they will give you first hand exsperince in driving one. Also check out RX7CLUB Ask around there. Be sure you know what your getting yourself in too.
