Closer to the ECM the better. It works on impedence. You want a slow non irratic signal. Find the signal wire into the ECM. if you need the plug and pin PM me ill get you the info for your car.
if im not mistaken, the signal will be irratic befor the ecu no matter where you splice, o2 sends an analog signal of lean rich lean rich lean rich. the AD converter in the imput device in the ecu converts the analog(irratic) to a digital signal with the ecu can read, which you cant plice into, so no matter where you instal the wire, you will get an irratic signal if installed proerly.
