+1 to that, a friend of mine from Ohio got "sponsored", but it was on a bunch of crap that wasn't remotely related to drifting (speakers for a car that has no stereo, etc).

He said he had better luck going door to door asking people to support his local race effrort in exchange for some advertising, just like good ole grassroots Autocross sponsorships
