I dunno....altough it's not impossible to make big HP numbers with an STI or WRX, it's more along the lines of improbable. If one takes their subaru street car and wants tons of top end HP and a 9k RPM redline not only do they have to sacrifice some bottom end torque, but they have to also look at all the parts affected by power increase. This was said earlier a couple of times, no need to reiterate.

*NOTE* I'm NOT talking about a race engine--

Subaru engines were designed with bottom end acceleration in mind. (Large Bore x Short Stroke). Increase the redline to 10k, put 800 hp @ 8500 rpms and yea, it'll be fast, but the bottom end will be lost, and cars with 50 - 100 hp less would be able to pull away at higher speeds. If more focus is put at placing max WHP to the lower-middle of the RPM range then it would be possible to take that Supra or whatever until a relatively high speed to fly by you. Rather than holding them neck and neck and then watching them walk away from you still.
