What I am describing is not some new technique <I dont really think there are different 'techniques', just varying degrees of mastery overall>. But what I am describing is the way everyone controls a car in a slide. Next time you ride with someone watch them work the wheel during a slide and see how when the car begins to lose angle, they will add throttle and/or decrease steering correction, in order to hold the angle longer. If they have enough speed, they might even grab some e-brake to push the rear end out a bit.
