You are sliding into a decreasing radius turn, going through the apex and now need the car to rotate more, i.e. increase the angle of the slide - this is not going to be achieved by straightening the wheel out.

I suppose different techniques might enable slightly different outcomes, but the fact that increasing the countersteer would increase the angle of the slide would still stand.
