Lots of people contributed parts or cheap parts to goodwill but it's not the same, it's not a group project like the Ford forum and it's Joe's car, not a forum car. Hell, he hasn't even volunteered it and wouldn't, because it's not the same as building a car from the ground up as a forum, deciding how to build it and donating spare parts to the cause.

I'm sure there are enough DSMers with spare parts and even spare cars laying around that TBDSM could put together a hell of a runner, probably even 10's if they followed Goodwill-style weight reduction and 9's if they put a big enough turbo on it. But I don't see DSMers getting together in an act of cooperation this big- hell, out of all of us in the area how many make it out to monthly meets?
