On the tranny on the back side where the cable goes into the trans there shoulkd be 4 bolts and a lil cover. take them off and Youll see a lil Pin and a U shaped Hook. The Shift cable is attached to this with a T Shaped Slip and a Coder Pin. Shift the car from inside and see how far this moves back and forth. I gurantee the Shift cable is Broken internally. The cable has an internal and external cable. One goes forward one goes back. At the lil cover will be a Boot on the cable, pull that back and inspect the crimp, more than likely the inner or outter crimp has come lose due to it being hung and someone forcing it into a gear. if its not loose there check the cable at the Shifter assy inside the lil boot. One Side has Come lose. if none of the ends look lose or the crimp has come undone then make sure the Shift arm inside that door is FULLY moving. If the cables fine yo have a trans issue. But im 99.9% sure its the Crimps on the cable it works just like a Manual Cable Tranny. Inner Cable When pulled is held taught by the outter cable and vis versa applying pressure forwards or backwards. A Manual Has Two Cables one for Side to Side and Forward and Back.
