You can run up to 18 psi boost on a stock bottom end of a Mk3 with a metal head gasket and necessary upgrades. Check out this modestly modified Mk3 (350 rear wheel HP) running 17.5 psi on a 102 deg. F day

This car is an automatic and its running the quarter mile in 12.3@112 mph. Those numbers can be beat with that boost. Anyhow good luck.
