Default MkII Focus - look at what we'll never get

So here is the next generation Focus being sold worldwide...with the exception of the United States. This is built on the newer C1 platform which is shared with the Mazda 3 and Volvo S40. Probably won't see anything new for the Focus in the states until 2008.

Anywho...here are some pictures of the MkII Focus. I like the new look, but unlike the debut of the MkI Focus, I think it is lacking in the bold styling department.

The MkII Focus has all sorts of cool options: Adaptive headlights that adjust aim according to speed. Built in bluetooth technology. KeyFree system that senses your approach...once you pull the handle it instanly unlocks the driver door and the ignition can be started by hitting a switch...very similar to the new Vette's keyless system. It even has customized timer for lights, rain sensing wipers, and the coolest part...adaptive power steering that you can dial in to your tastes.

Also, this car has earned the title as 2005's car of the year by the UK's largest auto magazine. The Focus in general has been Europes top selling car since 1998. The new 2005 still holds that title:

The Focus ST concept. Supposed to produce around 220hp. Hopefully the powerplant from this will find its way into the next SVT Focus:
Focus ST Performance
The new Focus ST will be powered by a turbocharged Duratec ST 2.5-litre, 5-cylinder engine, equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Plus the low-profile 225/40 performance tyres on sculpted 18x8-inch five-spoke aluminium wheels.
