you do not have to drop the subframe to get it out... Its actually very easy and can all be done on teh bottom. Jack it up real high and go searching for it, its on passenger side underneath the intake manifold. There will be a bolt on the back side (bottom) and a bolt on the front side (top). As well as a Bolt type tensioner. You will need to loosen the front top bolt, then loosen bottom bolt, then loosen side tenioner bolt all the way to get belt off, then remove both top and bottom bolts to remove alternator. Depending on who has been tinkering with teh car before there may or may not be a alternator stay you will need to remove. hope this helps...
