) I'd lauch it from 7,000rpm and just eat the clutch to keep it at 7k until it fully engaged. You can't do too much damage to a wet clutch by doing that, and it definitely beats roasting the tire or pulling the front wheel when lauching.
I did do a straight drop at 5,000rpm once. It scared the living shit out of me! The bike was fucking sideways!
