3rd gen is also heavier than the 1st gen integra, the heaviest 1st gen integra has a curb weight similar to the lightest 3rd gen
the 1st gen integras ranged from 2200-2500 lbs curb weight
(the 3 door RS is about 2250, and the 5 door LS is a hair under 2500)
i have a 3 door LS, the curb weight of that is about 2355
magazines have tested the 86 5 door RS integra (second heaviest) at 0-60 in 9.6s with a 1/4 mile time of 16.5s@80mph
not bad at all.
stock 0-60 times have been as quick as 8.8s
i have personally done a street start in my integra, from idling in first gear, to 60mph, shifting at redline (not rev limit), in 9.6s (fwiw, shifting at redline means a 2-3 shift, as 2nd gear redlines just shy of 60mph). i have a sound clip of it too.
not that i care about straight line performance.. the 86 5 door RS i mentioned got 0.86g on the skidpad.
the g1 integra was also compared by road & track in a subjective 4-car round-up in 1986. it actually won. (the other cars were a celica GT-S, a scirocco 16V, and a turbo DSM, not an eclipse, and not a mirage, it was FWD so it wasnt a starion, i forget the model offhand but it is one that never even saw the 90s in this country)
