lol, when Tony George tried that the IRL almost folded... TG split from champ car and formed the IRL with a focus on inexpensive chassis/engine combos, oval tracks and American drivers..... as you can see the IRL from the mid - late 90's looks nothing like the IRL of today.

If more english speaking people showed up to race (like Danica) I may watch more of it. I watch racing to root for someone I relate to. WRC, I root for Fords (since there's no Americans in that series), Nextel Cup, Fords or good people (Mark Martin, Michael Waltrip etc). I can't relate to some dude from a country I've never heard of whose idea of wheel to wheel racing is 2 cars being on the same straight at the same time.
