we are talking about the same thing. the shaft does not need to be replaced, you can buy the rag joint/ coupler seperate. as i said a mustang 2 coupler /rag joint from a manual rack will work and it will connect to the shaft off the column. i did this on my car. the $180 fr shaft is not needed. fr also sells a coupler for about $60
