It's no harder to tune by setting up a fuel and timing map than it is to set up a carb. Hell, a friend of mine who had no trouble tweaking his SAFC bought an old Z car and had a hell of a time adjusting the carbs, it's a foreign concept to somebody from the EFI age. The only carb I deal with is on my motor scooter and I spend more time fiddling with that thing to adjust for temperature changes and riding conditions than it's worth, and with no better feedback on the state of tune than spark plug reading and butt dyno. With EFI you never have to adjust it once it's tuned, you have the capability to monitor every aspect of your engine's performance in real time and even set safeguards for if something goes wrong.
