Default AWD + Rain = Warm fuzzy feeling

Yesterday, when the rain hit, I may have been the only person driving on Hillsborough with a huge friggin' smile. The whole damned road, from the Sheldon intersection up to Countryway, was flooded. As a result, traffic was pretty much at a standstill as cars fought to merge into the only lane that wasn't underwater. I on the other hand was having a ball. With a flooded lane all to myself, I just plowed on through, passing traffic and the occasional waterlogged car. If I had been driving my old Civic, I'd have been sitting in a parking lot waiting it out and bitching about having installed a CAI.

I'm just seriously impressed with this Subaru. In the few areas I encountered that weren't underwater, I felt like I was driving on dry road. When I got back into the water, the car stayed stable and didn't hydro-plane. Hell, I could even mash the pedal without encountering any loss of traction. From this point forward, I think I'm going to have a hard time justifying the purchase of any car without AWD. It's just that good.
