Actually, what you're complaining about is Healthcare costs. If healthcare costs were not so high, your premiums would not need to be so high.

If one does not have insurance and makes the hospital incur the charge of healthcare, who do you think it hurts? The ones with valid insurance. Those of us that don't feel it is right for a hospital to have to charge off our care. They need to eat too, do they not?

That $150/week is nothing when your wife falls down the stairs and incurs brain damage and needs medical care for 5 years until she finally heals enough to feed/take care of herself.

I love how people look at insurance as a bad thing. Insurance is there to give you a "payment" plan for when you need it. It is "insurnace" just as it is called.

I hate people that have the option to buy insurance and "can" afford it but choose not to, only to end up in the hospital and do exactly what you said.... let the hospital have to find ANOTHER way to recieve payment for their services, thus prices are high for those of us responsible enough to have insurance.

It's a fucked up cycle. It's circular. I honestly wish it was "OK" for all hospitals to only treat people without insurance for life threatening illness. Nothing else.

That would help ALOT. My uncle works in the ER of Health Central Hospital over here and says there are more uninsured people taking up his time with bullshit medical issues then anything else. He is actually looking to go to a private hospital so that he won't have to deal with the bullshit.

Welcome to "sharing" the burden. Those of us that "can" pay, definately DO pay.

I still feel that it is cheper to pay my $210/month for my PPO that I have not used except for "checkups", then have to pay the full price of a hospital stay for a major accident if I need it...
