God bless you for that! Suzie is constantly thinking about kids, but we just can't afford $800/month in day care plus expenses. It just isn't happening right now. Even with our debt paid down I can't see dropping that much coin on day care, but since Suzie brings home alot more than that, we can't afford for her to stay at home either.
The sad thing is that I don't care whether we have kids or not. Sometimes they would be neat to have around, but I can live my life without regret if I didn't have kids.
But just think how cool it would be to teach your kid how to change the head gasket on the Silver car. You could take it out every weekend with a kid like that hanging around the house.
Eh...no kids for me in the near future. Two kittens are getting the best of me. Couldn't imagine having an actual mini version of me to deal with. However I do want a kid before I hit 30. I want to be able to enjoy my retirement when he/she gets out of my hair (or lack of) when I'm in my late 40's early 50's. Plus a child becomes my personal slave for shitty housework when he/she reaches the age of 10.
