Pros : constant speed pump promotes better cooling, if your turning enough RPM's to cause it with a mech. pump you'll have no cavitation worrries.

Cons : More wiring to cause problems, possible electric motor failure at inopportune time. Mechanical pump fails at the seal, weeping coolant but continues to move coolant, electric does not.
