im trying to clear up some facts so this guy can sell his car.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION....on the back side of all b-series vtec blocks(near the thermostat there is an oil gallery that supplies oil to the vtec solenoid and then the rest of the head....an LS block doesnt have this obviously because it doesnt have vtec. when a vtec head is bolted down to a vtec block this oil gallery on the block lines up with a corresponding oil gallery in the head and seals via the headgasket. an LS head is missing this oil gallery hole all together so there for there would be a part of the block that wouldnt be cover by the head and oil would come spraying out like old faithful if u attempted to start it up like this. so unless u had someone weld this gallery shut u dont have a non vtec head on a gsr block(hold an LS headgasket over b-series vtec headgasket and youll see its even more obvious)..........if u reverse the roles and put a vtec head on an LS block(good old LS/Vtec) youll see that this oil gallery on the vtec head hangs over the edge on an ls block....thats why this hole needs to be tapped and plugged so it doesnt pour oil out everwhere.....
and im not even gonna get into the gsr cams in an LS head because that is just plain ridiculous and shouldnt even have to be explained to even the most naive honda enthusiast.
