ok so today i got a few a/c lines replaced they were leaking and a new condensor canister and charged up. the guy tells me i have a slight leak in the evaporator core but it should be fine.

so i went home and it blows cold oh yes its so nice then my compressor starts to kick on and off. compressors wont kick on if its losing pressure so it seems the leak is getting worse than he thought.

so after $500+ in parts and labor, the condensor core is a radiator like thing that my dad says might need special sealant and oil or something in there (didnt understand what he told me) and i find out its under the fucking dash.

so i am asking to see if swapping out a core is do-able DIY. if not, i will at least be taking the dash off myself to get to it (pretty sure i have toremove the dash unless its accessible under teh glove box or something). and that might save some labor since they'll just have to swap the cores and ill do th rest, saving me labor money.

if i do forego this procedure, i will need to know details on pulling the dash (im sure i can do it) but i will specifically need instructions on properly disconnecting and reconnecting the passenger side air bag. i do not want to make it go bad or blow up on me when i reconnect it.
