Block = kinda, MOL. Same casting but no hole for the dist.
Turbo = No. T3 turbos had the normal square flange and different specs.
I'd go for a SOHC, way more practical. If a head goes, you can go to Cophers and get 18 of them tomorrow, not search the net for 2 years to find one for $500 bare. True, DOHCs make much more power per psi than SOHCs, but you can make up for that with more psi. Look at Donovan. I dont think any of us will be at that level. You dont even NEED a "T2", just intercool a 2.5 T1 common block.
So what do you have in the garage in need of an engine??
