cai intake is so much better than short ram, with cai you will have smoother acceleration under normal getting up to speed i dont know if anyone else notices that but i do, the only thing that is good about a short ram to me is when you immediately mash the gas, it responds good. ON my cai ive had the filter wet, it wont do anything unless you really get it soaked and floor it, ive had it soaked before, when you know its soaked then dont floor the car and you will be fine, just dont submerge the car in a huge puddle and you will be fine.
