i dont believe that the bike needs lowering, as much as help with handling and braking.

better suspension components (the KYB forks are simply aweful)
better brakes..... (bin the tokicco 6 pots for ANYthing else)

perhaps, if you are afraid you wont control the bike, some rider education/improvement classes are in order.

im speaking from 14 years experience here (started riding @ 19) and know that education is paramount.......... im not trying to look down whatsoever..

ps- have you ridden it yet? its quite user friendly ya know. by extending the arm you lose alot of cornering ability, and dont make the bike any safer.
