DIY In Car Camera
After thinking a lot about it I finally got around to building my in car camera set up. I had planned on building a system to mount it to my passenger seat but I ended up using my camera tripod. The only other materials I needed was a tie down attachment point and an adjustable bungie.
If anyone else tries the same thing, I would recommend a small tie down since the bungie can give a little. Fortunately I can mount my tripod in a way that locks it down in the back, but if yours will be free standing I recommend the tie down replacement for the bungie.
In case any of you are wondering what the plate I put the hook in was for, its the cover for the shifer linkage that goes between the shifter up front and the engine in back.
I have given the system a hardcore test and it works great. I also have a great view of my tach, speedo and boost guage from the camera.
Since its one of the sony night cams even in normal mode its able to record well at night.
