You don't need to screw your slicks. I used to run a solid mid 12's on a street trim maxima with road racing slicks and had no issues. Hell, guys run 9's on drag radials without doing anything speacial. Just start your tire pressure at 10 psi and drop from there till you find it hooks reasonably well. Don't deflate to far or you will hurt your time on the second half of the track. 8-10 psi should be were you play at.
