You know what makes awesome DD cars that no one talks about? early to mid 90s FWD buick/olds with the 3.8 engine. Dependable as shit motor, easy as fuck all of any motor to work on. Parts are cheap. Only problems they have are the Cam position failing apart, you will replace the fuel pump at least once in the life of the car, and the coil module going bad.
Seriously I love when these cars come into the shop, cause they are just so cake to work on.
I know somebody with a Pontiac Transport with the 3.8. That thing sees constant abuse and prolonged neglect and it just keeps on ticking along. I consider that engine to be very impressive.
