Even after my roommate had like 3 or 4 DSM's, only like 2 of them had any sort of trouble, and it was out of pure laziness that they werent fixed (his fans werent coming on).

And even after the whole DSM "crankwalk" thing and the "they break all the time" thing, I'd still buy one, but I'd have to go AWD since i'm just not a fan of FWD.


Honestly, it's not that DSM's break, it's more of an owner/user issue...it's people who try to ignore the problems, or don't do the proper maintenance and take care of the issues before doing modifications. Maintenance sucks, but it's an essential and mandatory thing with ALL cars, esp DSM's. The horror stories you hear is because random person goes out and does intake/downpipe/exhaust/hefty clutch/boost controller, and then they jack the boost up to the maximum they can for the stock setup, and they wonder why things break
