Technically speaking, you won't be considered rice if you install an aftermarket BOV. Why do I say this? Because the car is turbo-charged. Personally, the term 'rice' is washed up. What about people who install an aftermarket BOV who run high levels of boost? I suppose their rice too.

It is true that aftermarket BOVs won't gain anything but sound. Who cares? Getting back to your problem, ask the previous owner if he/she tampered with the adjustment bolt.

I have the SSQ installed on my car as well, although I have seen nothing happen to the idle. My car hasn't stalled yet either.

If problems persist, it is highly recommended that you reinstall your factory BOV. Have you removed the intake silencer?
